Based on his experience with various independent theatre groups in the 1970s, he began his professional relationship with the theatre world. His first experience as a lighting designer was with the singer-songwriter Ovidi Montllor, and from then on he collaborated with several theatre companies. In 1989 he joined the technical team of the Centre Dramàtic de la Generalitat de Catalunya at the Teatre Romea. Since 1992 he has worked in theatre, opera, dance, and circus, among other disciplines, with directors such as Sergi Belbel, Ramon Simó, Matthias Langhoff, Joan Ollé, and Rosa Novell.
He has worked on Il barbiere di Siviglia, Jenůfa, Il trovatore, L’elisir d’amore, Cavalleria rusticana, Pagliacci, Il turco in Italia, Die Entführung aus dem Serail, Turandot, Manon, Madama Butterfly, Lucia di Lammermoor, and Don Giovanni.
He made his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in the 1997/98 season with L’elisir d’amore, and has returned with this same title in the 2004/05, 2012/13, and 2017/18 seasons.
